Androgynous

The boundary that used to prevent a person from wearing what he or she wants is slowly collapsing. Men are starting to wear heels, and women proudly borrow their boyfriend's jeans or shirts. Sometimes, creating an androgynous silhouette is very subtle: it's in the low neck of a boy's Tshirt, in a men's jacket on a girl's shoulders, or it's in the acessories (bow ties, hats etc.) Our members prove that style has no gender!

Vintage men's wool sweater, vintage denim pearl-snap shirt, a vintage trench-coat, Levi's jeans and Target leather boots.

"This was really my first time playing with the androgynous trend in this way - I've worn menswear inspired outfits before, but usually something inspired by the tuxedo or a black-tie inspiration. But I do love this more 'country gentleman' look, especially when I decided to do my hair in a bit of a 1940s inspired way!" Katy

You can look androgynous AND super chic at the same time, as Doina proves.

Jacket is vintage from WallflowerVintage.com, white tuxedo blouse from Steffen Schraut, tie is vintage 1970s and black oxfords are from Bandolino.

"The androgynous fashion is second-look-sexy.  You don't have to act like a man when you dress like one - there is something intoxicatingly and beautifully empowering when in a suit, tie and manly oxfords." Myra

Style Vs Style

Camaieu jacket, Zara pants, Massimo Dutti shoes, vintage hat and fur coat

H&M hat, Zara scarf, military jacket from a secondhand clothes shop, Zara denim shorts, H&M tights, André shoes, Marc by Marc jacobs necklace and a rosary with a plectrum found at home.

"I like looking into various wardrobes to get dressed, but especially into men's wardrobes. Take oversize clothes, mix them with clothes better fitted, or mix feminine and sexy with casual or masculine style to compose an eclectic wardrobe." Anais

DIY unbranded red bow tie, unbranded sheer nude shirt, and Pull and Bear navy pants, belt from Forever21, Ray Ban dork glasses, and mustard yellow ribbon bag from Debenhams.

"I took my chance to swap my girly look into a boyish look. But, as Androgynous as I may try to look, I could never scrap my accessories. This look is also inspired by the bowler hat pioneer, Mr. Chaplin. So, I think I looked like Mrs. Charlie Chaplin in color TV. :) My thought is, Androgynous looks doesn't always means black or white or grey. Doing some cross colors might still made the style even more chic!" Liz

"I think it's important to show your softer side in this harsh and quick changing dynamic world.
Especially now, when people judge you on your appearance faster than ever. A lot of people take for granted that a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl. But we're having one big thing in common and that's that we're people, so in the end we're all the same." Jean Pierre

H&M hat, Ray-Ban sunglasses, Zara coat , bag and skinny jeans, Mango sweater and Chloé shoes.

"I like to wear this, because it takes the best of women and men mixing it up. I've always been crazy for hats, oxford/lace up shoes, check/plaid patterns. I think those menswear elements in a woman make an outfit much more fun and interesting than the classical feminine elements that are something so evident and expected. Mixing one with the other creates the perfect match." Trini

Boyfriend's jeans and shirt, Lena looks cool in her casual outfit.
