Be Preppy!

Now that the whole planet is watching Gossip Girl, we cant get enough of the preppy style! It's fun, but at the same time super chic! it's like playing dress up, except it's very wearable! The KEYS to the preppy style are given to you in the following pages by our members!

Blair & Serena? No, Pauline & Laure, in their own version of the preppy style. I wonder if I don't prefer their modern take on the trend!

Pauline

"The best piece of this outfit is the beige blazer by Ralph Lauren. It's one of those pieces that you just throw on and make the entire outfit more preppy-chic! Another great preppy item is a plaid skirt like this purple and black one that combine with the trim of my beige blazer. I also decided to add this black Nine West belt to cinch in my waist and get that hourglass shape.

I love wearing preppy because it makes me feel stylish, smart, and oh so Gossip-Girl-Chic. All in all, the preppy style is a great way to look fashion forward in a fun and unique way!"

Marie

Vintage ascott top, scallop skirt, frilly socks and H&M heels.

"Preppy is a mainstay to my wardrobe. For me, you can be preppy anytime, anywhere, whenever you like. That's why I love it!"

"I love the preppy trend because it reminds me of the characters from Gossip Girl and looks very put together and chic."

Sushi

"I decided to make a DIY using an old navy coat. I added some golden buttons and I loved the result! Now it's one of my favourite coats!

I love the preppy style on other girls but, as it's not really my style I try to wear it in a different way, adding some rocking accessories, for example or mixing patterns."

Mireia

Skirt from Zara, checked shirt from Pull&Bear, stripped jumper from Often and ballerinas are Marc by Marc Jacobs.

"The black pin I'm wearing has a picture of Audrey Hepburn, who happens to be an idol Blair Waldorf and I share. I also added a bit of a nautical twist with a heart shaped compass necklace and gold anchor earrings. I feel that nautical and preppy fashion is very similar, with high-waist skirts, combinations of navy, red and white, and knee-high socks.
I love dressing up in skirts and high-heeled shoes, it makes me feel so pretty. And I can dress up without going over the top with the preppy style. It's always suitable for school because it is of course based on school uniforms!"

Svava

"I just love wearing berets, they not only protect me from catching a cold in winter but they can turn a simple outfit into something special... It's the small things that actually make (or break) a look!  I'm not one to follow trends or race after the latest fashion hype, but since I'm a bookish person I figured that going preppy would actually also fit my personality. Plus, digging out old pieces from the closet and putting them together into a completely new look is a good way of saving some money and it's a lot of fun!"

Diana's inspiration for this outfit was not Blair Waldorf, but Japanese school girls in their famous uniforms. Can't you tell?

Yumi beatrix dress, vintage jacket, tan shoes from Vincci and satchel bag from The Old Blossom Box Store.

"I've always loved being preppy because it's just everything I adore style-wise and it fits my personality perfectly" Sher

Bright colors are totally in Blair's style! And here, the mustard dress perfectly complements the scarf and shoes! It's a perfect preppy style for fall!

Chemins Blancs Paris moustard knitted dress
Zara military jacket
Uterqüe loafers
Jane Tran headband

This is my own take on the preppy trend: very litteral, I have to admit. It's a bit "Blair meets military meets schoolgirl". What do you think?

H&M headband & jacket, vintage skirt and bag

H&M jumper, Sandro blazer, Topshop socks, Andre shoes, Asos satchel bag.

"I think what makes my look preppy are the cute white socks and the blazer. The jumpsuit, which is quite short and feminine, gives a bit of and edge to the outfit, which would be too 'by the book' otherwise."

"I wish I was this fashion conscious when I was still at school. Given the chance, I would love to go back and I'd wear outfits like this every single day. I love my daily dose of vintage with of course a touch of modern! I am a huge fan of mixing thrifted pieces with high-end ones. I love that when I dress up I relive some past, some history that goes with the pieces and the outfit as a whole."

Aisa

Zara Blazer and shoes, Pull and Bear shirt, and vintage glasses from Sicario

"I always love to dress preppy because for me it´s like dressing up. I have always said that fashion is for having fun and when I mix and match preppy looks, I feel like if I´m somebody else. It´s really cool to see that I do not have a define style, because one day I can wear a very futuristic outfit, or an 80´s retro inspired look, but also I can be a preppy guy that loves blazers, and simple chic looks.

For me being preppy is to always know how to stand out of the crowd, by wearing very simple basic pieces, that together create a breathtaking outfit."

Salvadore

Red uniqlo gingham shirt (thrifted), red sweater from a flea market, black versace pants (bought it in thrift store just $20), and June+Julia patent flast shoes (her own shoes store).

"I like preppy style, it looks smart and cute at the same time. But I know I can't be look like Blair Waldorf, so I transform the feminime preppy girl style to be more masculine (the shirt and sweater combination), but still have feminime elements (the hairs style and the red lips). Because my signature style is androgynous, so I'm always synchronize masculine and feminime in every outfits."

June

Pants and cardigan are from Forever 21. shoes are from payless. shirt is thrifted.

In this preppy outfit, Victoria gets a straight A!
