Gothic chic
Forget everything you knew about Gothic fashion. In 2010, it doesn't have anything to do with worshipping Satan and listening to hard metal music. But the black nail polish may still be there, as well as black clothes. Clichés aside, this year, on the catwalks and in the streets, the Gothic Chic trend is subtle. It's in the sheerness of a maxi skirt, the tough leather of a corset, or in the apparent metallic zippers on a LBD. The make up also plays a big part: violine lipstick, Chanel "Rouge Noir" nail polish, smoky eyes...

, I realized how cool and great it is! Maybe not something you wear everyday but definitely a nice look to wear once in a while. When you feel a bit old-fashioned and gothic..." Amanda
"I have never actually wore this trend before but when I tried it out, inspired by the movie The French Lieutenant's Woman

"What I love most about this outfit is that it reminds me of some sort of gothic school girl. When I choose my outfits I quite often like to have some sort of fantasy theme like that to work around." Charlene

"I'm loving this trend because it allows me to dress in a way which incorporates my style without being too over the top...while I would ordinarily describe my style and as edgy/feminine/hobo all mixed into one, this look (particularly with this dress) gives me a gothic look while still giving off a feminine vibe."

"I adore layering black on black for the Gothic look. Mixing it up with different textures like Velvet & Lace and embellishments like Studs & Spikes. I also like to dress for less and dont think style has a dollar value so everything pictured is thrifted right down to the shoes. The cape was thrifted but from my store Studded Rose Vintage!"

"I love wearing this trend because it is the right combination of dressing cutting-edge and classic. Also gothic chic can be both dressed up or dressed down and it can be interpreted in many ways."

"For me, Gothic Chic means wearing black! If not all black at least dark colours, which you can mix with some nice details, such as some hot lips! In my case I thought some berry or dark purple lips will dress quite nicely the whole look." Gia
"This unbelieveable black dress is from Japan and all I can say is it was love at first sight. I just can't take my eyes of it... the detail is perfect! It was so perfectly made. It's not so easy to find a black long dress in my size, so this dress is one of the 'too good to be true' dress for me. I paired it with my kate spade polkadot tights, because I think I needed to give some glimpse of fun. The necklace was my DIY project, and one of my work that I'm proud of. I named it 'where's my key' . " Evita
