European and American women began wearing shirts in 1860, when the Garibaldi shirt, a red shirt as worn by the freedom fighters under Giuseppe Garibaldi, was popularized by Empress Eugénie of France. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shirt Shirts have the tendency to not only make a person look put together, it also makes a person look "smart?" I was thinking about the history of shirts and i figured they probably became popular when started working "blue-collar" jobs but wikipedia proved me wrong. Blazers, of course are male-inspired also. I have tons and tons (lie) of Blazers because i love them (true) a lot. They make most of my outfits appear better. Shirts and Blazers are not the only male-inspired items i love. I have a thing for boyfriend sweaters, oxfords and ties. I have always (and will) wanted to wear a tie, im just looking for the perfect one (thing, silk, small and black). Of course, i would hate to completely look like a man so what better way to make my outfit look "ladylike" than a ruffled skirt. I love skirts.
