Headgears & Head Jewels

The bigger, the better: this season, headgears and head jewels have to be seen!

Thick hair bands, decorative hair ties, crystal barrettes, hair accessories are more than ever whimsical. High hats become hair bands and jewels are turned into sparkling headgears. For the most adventurer fashionistas, Lady Gaga's famous hair bow is THE original source of inspiration... Risky but so eccentric! For those who don't want to go that further, any original accessory works for your everyday style as long as it's glam and a little bit voluminous.

No matter what is your hairstyle, hair accessories add their original touch to any ordinary outfit.

Discover our headgears and head jewels theme in which HYPEED members definitely showed their creativity!

Lioravioli's headband is the perfect example of the power of accessories to illuminate one' style:

"I wear this headband two or three times a week. I love it because I think it is different than others you can find. It's a beautiful mix of rock'n roll and indi inspiration.

No need to add any other accessory (necklaces...), it radically transforms a simple outfit. It's one of my friend who created it,a young parisian designer Melle San, all her headbands are amazing and original."

In this set of photos, Natalia M. illustrates perfectly what it is to add magic to a classy outfit:

"This is definitely one of my must have accessories as I cannot live without headbands and headpieces in general! I've collected a whole big drawer of 'headgear' and this particular red bow is my favourite as it stands out from the rest and looks like it's been taken out of a fairytale. When it comes to accessories like that I believe in a rule: the bigger the better!"

In her set of photos, Starr C. plays wonderfully with volumes and shapes. Her modern and voluminous dress is perfectly paired with her retro high hat headgear. She was first inspired by Erin (Calivintage)'s "Kurt Cobain meets Mary Poppins" photoshoot, a perfect mix of grunge with a girlie twist.

"The grunge element thrown in with something so girlie and sweet was perfect to me and the fact the dress could be remixed made it even better. I kept my eyes out for a similar silhouette, and when I saw this dress at Charlotte Russe for $30 I knew I had it. Instead of taking it down the 90's highway, I thought I'd change it up and send it to an older era. Goodbye Doc Martens, hello mini top hat".

The high hat-inspired headgear is one of the must-haves this season.

"I felt like a circus star in the 30's, like I should be balancing myself on one leg while juggling bowling pins and standing on a horse! I guess the bubbly skirt and mini top hat really entertained that idea, but it's always exciting to be a character for the day. The hat isn't necessarily something I would always wear, just an extra ingredient when I'm needing something a bit more quirky than the norm".

A spectacular and original look. Ladies and gentlemen, Starr C.'s show can now begin !

A voluminous piece for a rock'n roll look! Is Lorenz re-inventing Madonna's Like a Virgin style? It looks like so. Lorenz has definitely found the perfect mix of garments and accessories to affirm a rebel and rock'n roll character.

For Slanelle, headgears and head jewels represent the way to incorporate fun and originality to any kind of outfit.

"I wear different headpieces very often, bows or braids or jewels ... it's a fun kind of accessory and it always give a plus to an outfit !"

The shape and color of her head bow, definitely makes the difference!

Just this once will not hurt, in this set of photo by Beneath the Glass, the headgear is perfectly used to appease this punchy look.

"I love it because it has kind of a vintage, romantic look. I wear it when I want to dress retro, or soft and girly", explains Beneath the Glass, who actually had to buy this headgear twice because her dog chewed up the first one!

Some headpieces can be voluminous and soft at the same time.

In her set of photos, Fairydah clearly masters the use a gentle but original accessory. What a romantic look!

Thank you to all participants!
