Interview with Joyce, from Just Like Sushi

Can you present yourself and your blog? When did you star blogging, and why?

 
Hi! I'm Joyce, you also can call me Joy and I've got a blog called justlikesushi.com. I started blogging more than a year ago because I wanted to share my love for fashion and I also wanted to improve my english. So starting a blog was the best solution. I also saw other girl having a blog and I thought, I can do this too. 

 

How would you describe your style?

 
I think I don't have a certain style. What I wear depends more on the mood I'm in. I'm more into the boyish and androgynous looks. Further when I wear something feminine or girly I always need to combine something cool with it. For example when I wear a cute dress I always need to wear a leather jacket or biker boots with it.

How did your blog become so popular?

I still don't think my blog is that popular because there are other girls which are way more popular. But I always try to be unique and independent. I know I don't have a standard look so my main goal is also to show my readers that it's OK to be different. Further I always give a lot of attention to my photos and design of my blog.

What's your best and worst experiences linked to your blog?

My best experience was that I was invited to see and report the show of HUGO by Hugo Boss in Berlin during Berlin Fashion Week. And everything was arranged for me, the flight, hotel, etc. I really had the time of my life and I made some nice friends.
The worst experience was when I was invited by a fashion store to take a look at the new collection. But when I got there I wasn't allowed to make pictures and the service was really bad. But this only happend to me once, and I hope it's the last time.

Has having a blog helped you develop your style?

A bit. Because now I make a lot of pictures of what I'm wearing and I know better what fits me or not. And I want to stay true to myself and my style.

Where does your inspiration come from?

From everywhere. I can get inspired by something on the streets, a color combination, fashions shows, paintings and more.  
 
What are you most comfortable wearing?

My suede wedges that I got in two colors. My feet are not made for walking on high heels so these are the best option. I can walk on them all day long.

What's your favorite item in your closet?

I don't have an all time favorite. But at the moment I 'm totally into my leather Paperbag by Ramon Middelkoop.

What are your favorite places to shop?

I'm a true vintage addict, so I love to shop at vintage, seconhand and thrift shops. I love to find treasures all over the world. My favorite vintage shops are in London and Barcelona.

What I like about HYPEED is that you can share your style and creativity with others and create a magazine with fellow fashionlover and bloggers.
