Power Shoulders

Last season, Balmain has led the way with its now famous power shoulders jacket. Shoulder pads are now definitely back from the 80s, and they're even more daring. Think oversized, pointy, glittery! It gives structure to the feminine body and make you noticed everywhere! But in 2010, peaked shoulders are chic, and don't have much to do with their 1980s ancestors.

After the storm created by Balmain, Sandro, a french brand, released its stripped shirt with embellished shoulders. The crowd loved it, and everyone got a version, DIY or not.

Of course mass consumption shops have followed, like H&M and Zara, offering a wide range of shoulder pads, embellishments, ruffled-shoulders cardigans and so on.

It was so impossible to escape the trend that I'm sure you have something to show us! Is it a jacket with heavy shoulder pads, or ornaments on the top of your sleeves? Or maybe you even customized the shoulders on your top yourself?
