Summer Essentials: You Can Leave your Hat on (part 2)

In this second part of our hat fashion feature , we'll see that hats are the magical elements that give a twist to your outfit. With a cool fedora, you can look grunge, sophisticated, or arty, depending on what you wear it with.

But to go to the beach or to hang out in the city, the best hat may be the simple straw hat. It comes in any forms and sizes, so I'm sure you'll find the one you're looking for in our selection!

"I feel that people don't wear as much hats these days which is actually a real pity. Not only do hats protect your hair and skin from the sun, they also add that extra something to an otherwise ordinary outfit. You can really change the whole look by wearing different kinds of hats in different kinds of situations. When I wear a hat, I usually want to tell a story. This time it's a story about dark mysticism meeting an urban city dweller; something that I've been into a lot lately."

Then I saw the visuals for the H&M Fashion against aids collection, and fell in love with the hat that Elizabeth Jagger was wearing! Unfortunately, on the d-day, I couldn't find it... I was disappointed, but then I decided to go to the men section, see if I could find something for my boyfriend... And there it was! "I have always loved hats. I think it was something that I was inspired by my Grandfather. He was born in Italy and moved to the States with his family (my dad) for a better life. He had a brilliant mustache (think chef boyardee ha ha). Growing up I always loved his collection of hats especially the fedoras and would try them on when I was little. When he passed away 5 years ago and I received his collection of hats. Every time I wear a fedora I think of my grandfather."

Indonesia is famous for their beautiful handcrafts and that's also included the bowler ethnic hat i wore when i was having the trip in Mallorca, Spain. And it was early summer so it was pretty great to wear some hats there while the sun was shining brightly on the beautiful beach."
