Take A Bow: Hair Accessories And Bow Ties

When we decided to make a call for contributions on bows, we hadn't expected our members would be so creative. We had so many contributions that we had to divide them in two features!

This first part is dedicated to bows worn as hair accessories and to bow ties.

A bow in your hair seems obvious, but it takes some courage to add a bow on your pony tail when you're not 6 years old anymore. Some of our members were playful enough to make it oversized, as seen on Marc by Marc Jacobs spring collection. It's fun and quirky, just as I like it!

Then, a bow tie may be quite expected on a suit, but less on a shirt, or even less worn by girls. HYPEED members once again proved that they're imaginative and stylish with a bow around their neck! See, a bow is not necessarily girly!

"I love wearing bows, especially bows that big and brightly coloured. There's something about a bow that instantly makes an outfit girly and reminds me of when I was a little girl. This outfit especially does this and reminds me of when I was younger and wanted to be a dancer. For me the bow is the perfect accessory, they come in all different colours and sizes and always go with any outfit."

"I've created this look for a little walk in the park and it really reminds me of Alice In Wonderland somehow, which is probably mostly because of the big bow - it adds some magic to the look."

"Inspiration for these photos was Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee from Alice in Wonderland. We wanted to channel a bit of darkness that the disney film obviously didnt included but that the Tim Burton film captured effortlessly. So we shot the photos in a forest near my home and vamped up the black eyeliner and red lippy but kept it playful with matching diy bow ties."
