For the moment, we are in closed beta. If you are here, then it means you were accepted. We plan to open access to Hypeed as quickly as possible, but not before we have done enough tests and can ensure the site runs flawlessly. We want to provide a perfect user experience.
Once we have opened the site, everybody aged over 17 will be able to sign up.
There are two ways to participate: You can contribute and you can score.
First, select one of the currently open contribution calls, read the briefing information and then simply follow the instructions. You can participate only once per contribution call, but you can take part in as many contribution calls as you want.
We like pictures taken with a good camera. In order to ensure top quality for the visuals on Hypeed, we have to define rules. We recommend that pictures be at least 3 mega-pixels and have a size of 2 000 x 1 500. Most digital cameras will allow you to make pictures that are of even higher resolution.
We have also added pictograms that tell you after the upload if your pictures have a sufficient resolution. Remember that the nicer your pictures look, the more likely you are to be scored positively by the community and get selected for the online magazine features.
We don’t take legal responsibility for any contribution posted on Hypeed. However, before opening any contribution for scoring, we will validate photos to the best extent possible and ensure that the material used does not conflict with copyright laws, does not contain sexual, racist, homophobic or extremist elements and does not include any other content that could be offensive to our community. We don’t reject photos for other reasons.
After the contribution has been validated, it is open for scoring. You can score all contributions from all members except your own. Un-scored contributions are marked as “score it!”, while already scored contributions show the score you gave. In both cases, just click on the photo and score or re-score it. Note that 5 is the highest score and 0 the lowest. After each scoring, you will randomly be presented with other contributions from other members within the same theme to score.
The community has all the power to influence which contributions will be selected for the magazine feature. All contributions start with the same chances of being included. Thus scoring period is limited and identical for all contributions. It starts once your contribution has been approved. After the scoring time for a new story has ended, we look at the scoring results and pick the contributions with the highest scores. Based upon the quality of the images and the scoring, we decide which contribution to select as the cover and also how many contributions to include in the magazine feature.
If you have your own Blog or are active on Twitter or Facebook then it's really easy. Simple go to the page "view my contribution" and use the tools we have developed for you. The Blog Widget allows you to display your contributions right onto your Blog and ask your visitors to score your outfits.
We have been pretty busy over the past months building the site and preparing for launch.
As we are still in beta mode, we’ve decided to not announce our rewards program yet, but instead to test different ideas and ask our community for feedback.
We have some fun ideas for rewards and will provide more information soon.
We're starting with a new activity points system which will be extend as we add more features and activities to Hypeed.
More details about the points are mentioned just here under.
In the meantime, while we actively collect your feedback on our rewards ideas,
we hope that the idea behind Hypeed and the site are interesting enough for all of you to participate.
Most Hypeed activities will earn you points. As example, you can earn points for your first contribution, for promoting your contribution on Facebook or on Twitter and for many other actions. We display a list of the members who have racked up the most points on the "Leaderboard". The idea is that the more you participate through contributions, scores, etc. the more points you earn. We're counting all points and display the most up-to-date "Leaderboard" showing our active Hypeed fashion members.
Here's how points are currently awarded: (and yes, as we are still in beta we might tweak this from time to time - we'll announce changes here below and on our blog)
We're still experimenting with what points could translate into. More details will be shared shortly. For one, points grant our members a special Hypeed status, which we explain below. If you're interested in working with us on experimenting with how points can turn into real-world rewards, contact us!
We want to reward our most engaged members who contribute actively and qualitatively to Hypeed. We have implemented the following member status levels to recognize our active community and friends of Hypeed:
All photos that you have uploaded to participate will remain available on Hypeed. If your contribution is not part of a story, then you can still access and share your photos through your personal profile.
Participating in our calls for contributions with your own photos is very easy. It doesn't require high-end equipment, nor a professional photo studio or photographer. In fact we like to have real people shown in real situations.
Because we like to present to all our contributors and readers an attractive magazine, we have defined few simple guidelines for the contributions that we use to approve the contributions. We have turned those guidelines into tips for a successful participation for all of you:
